A former Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has lost his bid to unseat Mahmud Gaya, the representative of Gaya/Ajingi/Albasu Federal Constituency of Kano State.
The former presidential aide lost his bid to secure the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 elections.
Ahmad scored just 16 votes, while Gaya polled a total of 109 votes.
Ahmad stormed out of the venue of the primaries before the announcement of the final results.
Writing on Twitter, he said: “As an aspirant, I left the venue of primary election for Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency, because of the security of our majority delegates.
“If want to compete with the best, thugs shouldn’t be part of any election.”
