The Acting permanent secretary of Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development, Engr, Emmanuel Amatemenso, has urged the public to disregard the notion that Rivers state is not safe.
Amatemenso stated this on Monday in Port Harcourt in a two day programme organized by UNICEF centered on Water, sanitation and hygiene.
He appreciated UNICEF’s efforts in contributing to the development of the state and urged UNICEF to do more stressing that project should be executed not because of “assumed paraphernalia” but the “peculiarities of the state should be put into perspective before projects are executed.
The Eagle Online reports that the programme is a two-day media dialogue on European Union and Niger Delta Water Project organized by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture in conjunction with UNICEF.
