After being in detention for 13 years, a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere will today pronounce a verdict in the case the state brought against a former Chief Security Officer to late General Sani abacha, Major Al-Mustapha and others, for allegedly killing Kudirat Abiola, wife of late business and winner of the June 12, 1993 annulled presidential election.
The case, reopened in July 2011, is being heard by Justice Mojisola Dada.
Others standing trial with Al-Mustapha are Lateef Shofolahan; Mohammed Abdul, popularly known as Katako; and Barnabas Jabila, whom many Nigerians know as Sergeant Rogers.
Jabila has since become a state witness.
The men were accused of conspiring to kill Kudirat Abiola on June 4, 1996 in Lagos.
