The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Silas Agara, and the Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Isaac Danladi, are the latest persons to condole the Nigeria Football Federation over the death of its Head of Protocol, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar.
Abubakar was shot dead in his house in Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday by gunmen who did not take anything away from the house.
Agara said: “I have known Abubakar for a very long time and I am shocked at what has happened. He was a perfect gentleman. I know how difficult this period must be for every member of Staff at NFF. He was a vibrant and friendly person.”
Danladi, who is also the Chairman of Nigeria’s elite Club Owners, strongly condemned the killing of Abubakar.
He said: “This is a wicked act. It is a period of grief for Nigeria football. I pray that God will grant him eternal rest and grant the young family he has left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.”
On Friday, the President-General of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, visited the NFF Secretariat with some of his executives and prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed Abubakar.
