Abubakar confirms redeployment of Mbu, 22 CPs, 13 DCPs

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, on Thursday ordered the redeployment of 23 Commissioners of Police as well as 13 Deputy Commissioners of Police to various Commands and Formations across the country.
The posting, a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, said, is part of the strategic efforts to reposition the Force for improved efficiency and better service delivery.
Among those confirmed redeployed by the statement was the controversial Commissioner in charge of the Rivers State Police Command, Mbu Joseph Mbu.
The Police Service Commission had earlier on Thursday announced the redeployment of Mbu and 12 other CPs to various commands.
Mbu was redeployed to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.
Others redeployed, according to the statement by Mba, are Ambrose Aisabo from Ports Authority Police Command in Lagos State to the Kwara State Police Command; Felix Uyanna formerly of the Police College, Orji River in Enugu State, to Ekiti State Command;
Johnson Ogunsakin of the Special Fraud Unit to replace Mbu as CP Rivers State; Benjamin Onwuka, who was the Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State, moves to Kebbi State as the the boss of the state Command; and Ibrahim Maishanu, who moves from the Force Headquarters to Osun State Police Command.
Others include Adamu Ibrahim, the Deputy Force Secretary, who becomes the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command; Adenrele Shinaba, who also moves from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to Kano State as the state police boss; Umaru Shehu moves from Nasarawa State to Kaduna State as Commissioner of Police; A.J. Abakasanga, the Commissioner of Police, Information Technology, was redeployed to Adamawa State; and Kalafite Adeyemi leaves the Force Headquarters, Abuja, for Taraba State as Commissioner of Police.
