Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia has slammed an indefinite suspension on the club’s defender, Valentine Nwabili and fined mid-fielder, Kalu Nweke
for gross indiscipline.
The club management took the decision after examining the circumstances involving the two players as reported by the technical crew.
Nwabili, who sorted the club’s permission to see his parents in Minna, failed to return to Umuahia on deadline date as ordered by the club’s technical consultant.
The club however considered Valentine’s attitude as
gross misconduct in view of the club’s precarious situation on the NPFL league table and therefore suspended him indefinitely.
The player was ordered to hand over all the
club’s property in his care including the identity card, while he vacates the camp immediately.
Meanwhile, the other player, Kalu was fined after finding him guilty of insulting a member of the technical crew in one of the team’s training sessions.
Abia Warrior’s Technical Consultant, Abdullahi Biffo
charged the players to be disciplined, saying that is only option for the club to progress.
