The Senate has gone into a closed-door session over the confirmation of ministerial nominees that have been screened.
The thorny nominee and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, was said to be the reason for the closed-door session.
Senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party kicked over the refusal of the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, to allow them scrutinise Amaechi during screening and vowed to lay the ambush for him during eventual confirmation.
The Eagle Online also reported on Tuesday that the PDP caucus in the Senate met over the issue and vowed to stop Amaechi during confirmation.
The closed-door session started at about 2pm and was yet to end as at press time.
