A politician’s kind gesture has led to the killing of four people who reportedly wanted to benefit from the free money he doled out in Amukoko area of Lagos State, on Wednesday.
Eye witness account said that the popular politician, in Amukoko, who usually doles out cash to assist the thugs in the area, as usual came and gave money, before leaving, but the gesture resulted into tragedy as the hoodlums began to fight over sharing formular. Soon they were shooting at one another.
It was further gathered that Mosafejo area of Amukoko was a no- go area as the hoodlums took over the place and other areas, forcing people to lock their shops and residences.
A resident, Kamoru said that a member of a popular vigilance group called Omoba was shot and he gave up the ghost.
Kamoru said Omoba who resides at Opeleye street, Ajegunle went to the scene as a member of the vigilance who wanted peace in the area when he was shot dead.
The hoodlums also trailed another man to an Indian hemp joint in Ogungbe street, Ajegunle area and also shot him dead.
Another witness, Taofeek claimed that another hoodlum was killed at Ajenifuja Street, while the other was killed in another part of Amukoko.
He said the politician gave them just N50, 000 and left before they started killing themselves over the money.
He recalled that the same politician did same with N20, 000 last year and one person was also killed at Seven- Up bus stop, Ojo Road, Ajegunle.
