The National Conference Committee on Devolution of Power has assured Nigerians that agreement will be reached on the twin issues of derivation principle and resource control on Tuesday.
The Co-Chairman of the Committee, Obong Victor Attah, who gave the assurance after over four hours closed door meeting before break time and two and half hours meeting after, said all the committee members have contributed their positions on the issues and the issue will be resolved on Tuesday.
A member of the committee, Prof. Erhagbe Eddy, informed the newsmen that the extreme positions have been narrowed down, adding that the committee will not go below 13 percent derivation.
It could be recalled that the Committee had done series of closed doors meetings on the twin issues without achieving any success.
