In September last year, Africa Magic announced the creation of its Africa Magic Original Films Initiative, an ambitious project that would see the entertainment house investing in the creation of brand new films.
A month later, the first of these titles were screened on DSTV.
Few days ago, they announced 45 new movie titles, which would be exclusively on two African Magic channels in one month.
Speaking on Africa Magic Original Film Festival, M-Net Regional Director, Wangi Mba-Usouwku, said: “It’s truly an awesome April.
“At Africa Magic, we’re passionate about our films initiative, which is also the very first of its kind for our brand.
“What better way to celebrate it and to thank our loyal audiences for their highly valued support than by packaging these titles into an unforgettable month of movie entertainment.
“This project is deeply special to us because it showcases the incredible diversity of stories and talent that abound across this continent.
“We will continue to invest in creating, commissioning and acquiring home-grown programming for all of our eight channels that is relevant and entertainment for our audiences.”
Running in two parts throughout April 2014, DSTV audiences can see a line-up of new Africa Magic Original Films every weekend on Africa Magic.
Films to be aired include Olive Branch, Home Coming, The Room, Prodigal, Hotel Hush, Maid of Honor, Tomi’s Got A Gun, Second Chances, Dilemma, The Men In Her Life, Perks Of Proposal, The Vacation, Daylight News and MY Other Mother.
