Gumnen, suspected to be members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, on Friday attacked the convoy of the Adamawa State Governor, Alhaji Murtala Nyako.
According to a report monitored on the African Independent Television, Nyako was attacked in Shuwari village in Adamawa State on his way back from a condolence visit to victims of Boko Haram attack.
Nyako’s position on the attack imputed it was premeditated.
The governor queried the disappearance of soldiers from a checkpoint in the vicinity of the attack.
Nyako wondered who directed the soldiers to vacate the checkpoint a few hours before the attack.
