Former League Champions, Enyimba of Aba, on Wednesday confirmed their superiority over their eternal rivals, Heartland of Owerri, by piping the Naze Millionaires by a lone goal in the opening fixture of the second half of the newly christened Glo Nigeria Premier League.
The Aba Millionaires had also nicked the reverse fixture in Aba before completing the double victory in Owerri.
Nzube Anazemba was the hero for Enyimba in Owerri as they start their campaign on the right footing.
Enyimba recorded a similar 1-0 score line in the Week 19 match against the Naze Millionaires.
It was Sokari Kinglsey that got the solitary goal for the six-time league champions in the Aba duel as Enyimba confirmed their superiority over the Federation Cup reigning champions.
In other fixtures, Shooting Stars played one all draw with Kwara United, Wikki Tourists mauled Lobi Stars by 4-0, Bayelsa United and Dolphins ended two-apiece, Akwa United beats Gombe United 3-2, ABS FC piped Kaduna United by a lone goal, Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves played out 1-1, Sharks returned to winning ways by defeating Nembe City by 1-0 while Rangers were two goal better of Nasarawa United.
