The management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has expressed concern over the poor state of the toilet facilities at some airports, as a result of concessionaires’ inability to perform to international standards of quality in carrying out their duties.
The management of FAAN has therefore directed all concessionaires handling toilet facilities at all airports to begin to live up to expectation in the discharge of their duties or have their contracts reviewed.
A statement by the General Manager, Corporate Communications of FAAN, Yakubu Dati, said the management finds it unacceptable that its brand new facilities, meant to enhance the comfort of the travelling public, are rendered unusable as a result of poor maintenance by the concessionaires.
Management expects all concessionaires to rise up to the vision of the aviation road map which mandates both FAAN and its concessionaires give airport users value for their money in service delivery. Our airports are undergoing transformation and we expect our new facilities to reflect this reality.
Dati said the new vision of FAAN places emphasis on accountability and responsibility, adding that as a result of this, the management of FAAN has not only made a pledge of performance, “it is also committed to rendering services beyond the expectation of aviation stakeholders who desire nothing less than excellent service from us.
“This is with a mind to giving all airport users a new and more pleasant experience in air travel.”
