Five thousand policemen have assigned to be on guard at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, as the Super Eagles battle against the Red Devils of Congo.
Super Eagles’ team coordinator, Emmanuel Attah who disclosed this on Friday said the security personal will be on ground to ensure safety of lives and property at the stadium and it’s environs.
Attah informed that the anti-bomb squad, the para-military and the men of the civil defense corps have been called to duty.
“Though, the Calabareans are sports loving people. They received the Super Eagles will open hand and we have never hard any cause to worry since playing our games here but that is the standard world over.
“We must ensure that one police is on guard for two men in and outside the arena,” he assured.
Attah however enjoined lovers of good football to troupe out en masse to cheer the Eagles to victory, saying there support plays a major role for the team.
