Hopoel Be’er Sheva shot stopper, Austin Ejide has vowed to provide good cover for absentee Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama against Congo.
Ejide who will lead the Eagles out in Calabar against the Red Devils, said the responsibility as the team’s stand-in captain and the goalkeeper won’t outweigh him in the game.
“We all have responsibilities on the pitch as the goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and attackers. We are just like a unit trying to support each other on the pitch. So, being in goal and the captain are not huge task for me as a player.
“Enyeama calls us at all times to encourage us. He’s been very supportive to what we are doing here and we are have promised not to let him down,” said the former Bastia of France safest pairs of hands.
