The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Muslim Alumni has inaugurated new National Executive Council that will pilot the affairs of the Association for the next three years.
The newly-constituted executives was announced by the Shurra Committee Chairman, Alhaji Taofik Salako.
He unveiled the new executive at the just concluded National Convention and 20th Anniversary of the association in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
They include: Prince Taofeek Oyeniyi (Lagos Chapter) and Town Planner Abdur Rauf Adebanjo (Ogun), both returned as President and Vice President respectively.
Mallam Idris Gbadamosi (Oyo) was elected as the General Secretary, while Yusroh Akintan (Lagos) emerged as the Assistant General Secretary.
Mallam Maruf Qazim (Ogun) is the new National Public Relations Officer, while Fatima Misbahudeen (Lagos) occupies the post of National Auditor.
Mallam Mutiu Rosenje (Lagos) was moved to the office of National Welfare Officer I.
Others are: Town Planner Abdul Wakeel Solabi (Ogun), Treasurer; Town Planner Sekinat Dada (Ogun), National Welfare Office II; Mallam Abdul Kabir Buhari (Ogun), Financial Secretary; Alhaji Taofik Salako and Afis Ajia, (Lagos), both ex-officio.
The swearing in of the new NEC climaxed the triennial National Elective Convention and 20th year Anniversary, which was held at the Arial View Conference Hotel and Suites, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
MAPAMA Association constitution stipulates that tenure of every NEC ends and begins with an elective National Convention.
Prior to the unveiling of new NEC, Salako said the committee did a thorough job before arriving at its final result, adding that Allah’s guidance and wide consultation finally resulted to the choice of new executives.
The two-in-one event was witnessed by many dignitaries, including the representative of Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; a former Rector of MAPOLY and MAPAMA BOT Chairman, Town Planner Waheed Ayinla Kadiri; a renowned Islamic scholar and comparative preacher, Dr. Daud Amoo Alaga; and past leaders of the organisation.
