African champions, D’Tigers, have qualified for the semifinals at the ongoing 2017 Afrobasket tournament in Tunis, Tunisia.
The Nigerian lads defeated their their Cameroonian counterparts by 106-91 points in a quarterfinal tie on Thursday.
Nigeria shot into the lead by 25-18 points in the opening quarter, just as they consolidated with 27-25 points in the second quarter.
In an attempt to turn the table against Nigeria, the Cameroonians claimed the third quarter by 23-27 points, but surrendered the lead in the fourth quarter with 31-21 points.
Nigeria will face the winner between Senegal and Angola in the semifinals on Friday at 8:30pm.
