The Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, was one of the seven ministers in the Federal Executive Council that resigned on Wednesday to pursue their 2015 political ambitions.
Others who resigned included the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku; the Minister of Trade and Industry, Samuel Ortom; and the Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike.
Others were the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu; the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu; and the Minister of State for Niger Delta, Dairus Ishaku.
Virtually all the ministers have their eyes on the governorship position of their states.
Maku had on Friday given the hint that all ministers with their eyes on 2015 would quit the cabinet latest by October 20.
Maku is seeking to become the governor of Nasarawa State.
