Commissioners of Police in charge of state commands are now to issue permits for the use of tinted glass.
This information was released on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, in a statement.
Ojukwu said the development followed an order by the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, that the issuance of the tinted glass permit be decentralised.
Ojukwu said Abba has delegated the power to Commissioners of Police in charge of State Commands so as to bring service closer to the people.
He added in the statement: “Such permits have the same authority as those previously issued by Force Headquarters and are valid throughout the Federation.
“Applicants have to get their vehicles examined to ascertain the tinted glasses are factory fitted.”
