Two students of the Federal Government College, Okposi, Ebonyi State, who were initially declared missing, have been found dead.
The students, according to available report, were found dead on Monday.
According to a group, Okposi E-8, this is the first time such would occur in the school founded in 1965.
The group, after an emergency meeting on Monday in Abuja, called for caution in the reactions that will likely follow the news of the death of the students.
While it expressed shock and serious concern over the death of the students, the group called on law enforcement agencies to take all steps necessary to unravel the cause of death.
In a statement by its Chairman and Secretary, Barrister Emenike Joseph Okorie and Barrister Ugochukwu Ezekiel, the Okposi E-8 urged the security agencies to be thorough in their investigation and those concerned should not pander to emotions.
It added in a statement made available to The Eagle Online on Tuesday: “This is the first time that such bizarre development is being reported in Federal Government College, Okposi since the establishment of the School in 1965.
“We encourage our people, friends and lovers of our Community to rise to this new challenge and provide adequate information to law enforcement agents for a thorough investigation to establish the cause of death. All concerned should not pander to sentiments but allow reason and morality to prevail.
“Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased, the School, and the entire Okposi.
