Emmanuel Igioye of Team Kwara on Monday won the gold medal in the para table tennis event’s boy’s singles 6-10 seed at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State..
In the final match played in the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Ilorin Sports Complex, Igioye garnered six points to beat Oluwaseyi Ogunjimi from Ogun, who had five points.
Joseph Emmanuel from Rivers had four points to win the bronze medal match.
In the girl’s category, Mariam Popoola from Ogun garnered eight points to win the gold medal while Tayo Ayelabegan from Kwara won the silver medal with seven points.
The bronze medal went to Imo’s Amarachi Nkwocha.
