The Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, has approved the dissolution of the board of the 17 Local Government Council of the state.
A statement from the office of the Secretary to the State Government stated that the action is in compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Edict establishing the Local Government Council Administration in the state as conferred on the governor.
In the statement signed by the SSG, Hon. Rufus Bature, Lalong directed all the dissolved Chairmen of Councils, all members of the Executive Arm, Councillors and other political appointees to hand over all government properties in their possession to the Directors of Personnel Management of the 17 Local Government Councils.
He however directed all security operatives in the various Local Governments and particularly the DPOs and members of the various Labour Unions in the Local Governments to ensure that all government properties are secured in the custody of all the Directors of Personnel Managements in line with this directive.
Similarly, Lalong has also approved the appointment of Hulda Fwangchi as the new Head of the Civil Service of the state.
Fwangchi until her appointment a Permanent Secretary with the Plateau State Government.
She is to replace Ezekiel Dalyop.
The Governor commended all members of the dissolved Local Government Councils and the outgoing Head of Service for their selfless service and wished them the best in their future endeavour.
Lalong further assured them that their wealth of experience would be relied upon as time and opportunity avails in the course of governance.
