The Publisher of Newswatch Times and National Mirror newspapers, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, on Friday panicked as some senior hands in his newspaper conglomerate have resigned.
This also comes on the heels of a strike threat by other staff, especially graphic artists of National Mirror, who are being overworked after the sack of those in Newswatch Times.
The graphic artists of Newswatch Times were sacked enmass for demanding the payment of their six months outstanding salaries and refusing to work.
Owing to this, Ibrahim called a management meeting on Friday to discuss the issue.
Several senior hands were said to have resigned since Tuesday.
The graphic artists of National Mirror are being coerced to produce both newspapers.
But only few of them have complied after being threatened with sack.
This has led to the reduction of the pagination of the newspaper from 98 to 56.
More details coming.
