The Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Ambassador Ignatius Longjan, has debunked insinuations making the round that he has defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Longjan, in a press statement issued weekend through his campaign organisation, distanced himself from the report.
In the statement signed by its Secretary, Musa Garba Musa, the Campaign Organisation said it received with shock the rumour that the deputy governor had defected.
The statement said: “The attention of the Longjan Campaign Organization has been drawn to a statement that has been used in the social media and the media saying that the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Ignatius Datong Longjan has defected to the All Progressives Congress.
“This has come to the Deputy Governor, the Campaign Organization and by extension, his teaming supporters as a surprise.
“Therefore, the Ignatius Longjan Campaign Organization wishes to categorically refute such insinuations and claims.”
Longjan stated that he is still a bona fide card carrying member of the PDP and called on all his supporters to disregard such misleading insinuations.
It would be recalled that the APC chairman in state, Hon. Latep Dabang, had said all arrangements had been concluded to receive the deputy governor into the APC.
