The Presidency has clarified that Folorunsho Coker is the new Director-General for the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation and not the National Film and Video Censors Board as earlier announced on Friday.
Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, made the clarification in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
Adesina said Adedayo Thomas was the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board.
The statement read: “As part of new appointments approved for government agencies and parastatals by President Muhammadu Buhari on March 31, 2017, Mr Folorunsho Coker, is the new Director-General for Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), while Mr Adedayo Thomas, is the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, (NFVCB).
“This corrects the earlier announcement that Mr Coker is of the National Film and Video Censors Board.”
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointments of new executive management for the Nigeria Television Authority, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, National Emergency Management Agency and some agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture
Duro Onabule, one time Editor of the defunct National Concord as well as Chief Press Secretary to former President Ibrahim Babangida, was named as Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Television Authority.
Onabule’s appointment was announced on Friday along with those of new Executive Directors of the NTA.
They are Dr. Steve Egbo (Administration and Training), Abdul Hamid Salihu Dembos (Marketing), Mohammed Labbo (News), Fatima M. Barda (Finance), Stephen Okpanachi (Engineering) and Wole Coker (Programmes).
Adesina also named Aliyu Hayatu as Chairman of the Board of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, while Buhari Auwalu and Yinka Amosun were appointed as Zonal Directors for Kaduna and Lagos stations respectively.
