Over 20,000 people who returned to the Peoples Democratic Party in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have bagged the party’s lateral transfer.
The state chapter of the ruling party did not only announce their return at a return-rally held at Oleh Stadium in Isoko axis of the state, but showered unreserved blessings on them.
The state Chairman of the party, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, who described their reception as “lateral”, ordered that the decampees be transferred back to the position they held before they moved away.
Nwaoboshi said their return-rally signaled good fortune for the party, not only in the October 25, council polls in the state, but also in the 2015 general elections.
According to him, in politics, there is a concept called lateral transfer, “a situation”, he explained, “that guarantees re-absorption of anybody who, for one reason or the other, exited and decided to come back to the party and he or she gets his or her original position.”
While he said the party has no reason whatsoever to discriminate against returnees, following the accommodating and all-inclusive spirit with which the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, had welcomed aggrieved members of the party, he warned ward and council leaders against denying the returning the original position.
Nwaoboshi however urged the returnees to remain loyal to the dictates of the party and avoid been carried away by the wind of change being blown by opposition parties that “have not blueprint for the development of the Nigeria”.
