The Chinese embassy in Nigeria said on Thursday it was conducting analysis on the possibility of direct flights from China to Nigeria by Chinese airlines.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the embassy and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The statement said: “Chinese airlines are studying the feasibility of operating direct flights between China and Africa according to market rules.
“The Chinese side will continue to support bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation.”
The statement also said that Chinese investors were also considering investing in the continent’s agriculture, trade, manufacturing, power and tourism sector sectors.
It said most investors have shown great interests in Nigerian market.
NAN reports that the Chinese government has repeatedly said it was ready to contribute its quota towards the development of Africa’s aviation sector.
