The wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, on Sunday prayed for families of Nigeria’s soldiers who died in line of duty as the country marked the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
Buhari also prayed that the labours, love and sacrifices of the fallen heroes would never be forgotten.
Buhari, who sent a congratulatory message through her Facebook page in Abuja on Sunday, expressed optimism that the time had come when Nigeria would be free from terrorism.
She said: “As we remember our fallen heroes today, I pray for those they left behind; our heroes will never be forgotten.
“Their labours and sacrifices will not be in vain.
“I pray that the time has come when there will be zero terrorism and insurgency in our land.
“To our gallant troops who had fought and still fighting to restore peace, I say thank you.”
The Federal Government has fixed January 15 of every year to remember the soldiers who lost their lives to keep the country one.
