The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has directed the 14 Local Government Area offices of the party in the state to involve people with disability in all the party’s activities.
The state Chairman of APC, Alhaji Lawal Liman, gave the directive while receiving the state chapter of the Association of Peoples with Disability who paid him a courtesy visit at party’s secretariat in Gusau on Tuesday.
Liman said the APC leadership in the state had pledged to provide inclusive leadership in which every members would contribute towards the development of the party.
He said: “We are ready to partner with all stakeholders, particularly people with special needs, in all our activities in order to maintain the strength of the party in the state.”
According to him, the party has already commenced development of its strategic plan ahead of 2019 general elections.
He, therefore, urged members of the APC in the state to continue to be united and always work together towards the development of the party.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad, commended the party leadership, at both states and national levels, for including people with disability within the party structure at all levels.
Muhammad also expressed gratitude to the party leadership in the state for respect and regard given to physically challenged persons.
He also promised the support of the members of the association to the party ahead of the upcoming 2019 general elections.
Meanwhile, Liman also played host to APC party supporters from Bungudu east constituency, in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state.
The delegation was led by the state Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Muhammad Sanda Danjari.
