The Ejigbo Progressive Youths Association has hailed the election of Senator Oyetunde Mudashiru Hussein as the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Osun West Senatorial District bye-election scheduled for July 8.
The association gave the commendation in a press release issued in Osogbo on Tuesday, signed by its National President, Comrade Rasaq Ojetunji, and National Secretary, Comrade David Abiodun.
Describing Senator Hussein’s emergence as “historic, popular and appropriate”, the association noted that the APC couldn’t have made a better choice given the prevailing circumstances.
The Ejigbo youths also lauded the state leadership of the APC for considering Senator Hussein fit for the great task, assuring that he would certainly live up to their expectations if eventually elected.
The association further noted that the nomination of Hussein would ensure continuity, recalling that he was not only a former senator but one that voluntarily yielded place for the immediate past incumbent, the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, in 2015, based on party’s advice.
They also observed that it was to the credit of Hussein that he remained friendly and loyal to the late Senator Adeleke throughout his tenure.
“Against that lofty backcloth, it is only fair and proper that Senator Hussein should be given the popular mandate to continue from where the late Senator left the stage”, the association argued. Such popular mandate will ensure continuity and foster political harmony within the APC,” the association further posited.
Meanwhile, the association has called on the people of Osun West Senatorial District to continue to rally support for the candidature of Senator Hussein and to also come out en-mass and vote for him on the election day so as to ensure his total victory.
