The provost, Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua, Yobe State, Dr Mohammad Gishiwa, is dead.
Gishiwa, 53, died on Sunday while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kano, following injuries sustained in a car accident on October 4.
Mr Hassan Bulama, deputy provost of the college, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu on Monday.
Bulama said that the deceased would be buried at about 2:00 pm in Gashua.
Also, Alhaji Ali Gishiwa, a brother to the deceased, said that arrangements were on to convey the remains of the deceased to Gashua for burial.
Gishiwa was appointed provost in 2016, and he was serving his second tenure at the time of his death.
