The coordinated attack on Damaturu, Yobe State, is yet to be fully contained.
Gunshots are still being heard as at this afternoon in parts of the state capital.
Spokesman of the Yobe State Police Command, Salihu Adamu, told Bloomberg that the attack was yet to be fully contained by security forces.
Adamu said this is the reason why he could not confirm the number of casualty as at press time.
Adamu said: “I can’t confirm the number of casualties because the operation is still on.”
But sources said the figure is on the high side.
The state government has declared a 24-hour curfew owing to this.
Abdullahi Bego, the spokesman for Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State, confirmed the imposition of the curfew.
