A United States of America-based businessman, Onyejekwe Izuchukwu, has been found dead in a hotel in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.
The businessman, who was said to have checked into the Ikoyi, Lagos hotel on June 7, 2024, died on June 9, 2024.
Izuchukwu, whose age was put at 62, reportedly came into Nigeria for a business transaction.
Described as the President of Bits and Drilling Tools, a division of Schlumberger, he was reportedly found on the floor of his hotel room by a cleaner at about 7pm on June 9, 2024.
The Assistant Chief Security Officer of the hotel reported the development to the police.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the death of Izuchukwu.

Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, said: “Izuchukwu was found lifeless on the floor of the hotel room.
“A doctor confirmed him dead and his corpse has been deposited in a morgue in Ikeja for autopsy.
“The command has commenced an investigation into the case.”
