Uganda crash out of AFCON 2017

The Cranes of Uganda have crashed out at the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon.
The Ugandans lost one nil to Egypt in the second group game.
Egypt secured maximum points through a late strike from Abdallah El-Said, who converted Salah’s assist in the final minutes in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs boosted their chances of qualification after a late winner against Uganda, which saw them jump to second place behind Ghana in group D.
Egypt started the game with a defensive approach, which saw dominance in midfield but without any efficient outcome in the opponents half.
The first real chance came for Egypt when Salah flashed a cross from the right side but there was no teammate to meet his efforts.
In the 51st minute, Uganda managed to score but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Around the 60-minute mark, Hector Cuper chose to bring on Abdallah El-Said for Tarek Hamed to add more attacking power.
Three minutes later, El-Said had the chance to score from the edge of the area but his shot went straight to the stands.
In the 65th minute, Amr Warda came on for Stoke City’s Ramadan Sobhi. Minutes later, Trezeguet had a chance to score for Egypt but his weak shot went straight at Onyango.
Marwan Mohsen had the chance to put Egypt up after heading Abdel-Shafy’s cross over the bar.
With just over 10 minutes to go, Cúper brought on Mahmoud Kahraba for Mahmoud Trezeguet.
Instant impact from Kahraba as he squared the ball to Salah inside the box, who layed off the ball for Abdallah El-Said to shoot straight between Onyango’s legs, sending the Egyptian fans wild in the 88th minute.
Egypt held on to the win, which eliminates Uganda from the competition. The Cranes become the first side to leave the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs will face Ghana on the 25th of January, in a crucial match for the top spot.
