The South-West Zonal Executive of the Peoples Democratic Party has congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his victory at the Oyo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
The South-West PDP, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Ayo Fadaka, noted that all the grounds upon which the petition of the All Progressives Congress was anchored, were, after careful examination by the Tribunal, found to be flimsy and outlandish, confirming that they were merely shopping where they shouldn’t.
It called on the APC and its candidate to accept the verdict in the interest of the state, as it “constitutes a mere distraction.”
The statement said: “The South-West Zonal Executive under the leadership of Dr Eddy Olafeso and indeed the PDP family across the South-West congratulates the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde on his victory at the Oyo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
“We note that all the grounds upon which the petition of the APC is anchored were carefully examined by Tribunal and found to be flimsy and outlandish. This confirms that they were merely shopping where they shouldn’t!
“In view of the foregoing, we request the APC and its candidate to accept this verdict and not pursue it further in the interest of Oyo State, as this action continues to constitute a mere distraction.
“We, however, wish to reassure the people of Oyo State that Governor Seyi Makinde is further re-energised to continue discharge his responsibilities and extend the frontiers of development in the state.”
