No fewer than 10 persons are feared dead after a trailer lost control and rammed into them in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Radio Nigeria, Ibadan is reporting that the accident occurred at the New Garage area of the town, close to the old Toll Gate.
It involved a trailer with registration number LND 221 XA.
The vehicle was said to be coming from Methodist High School Road towards New Garage when it lost control.
Most of the dead were said to be commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as okada.
They were said to be waiting to pick passengers when the trailer lost control and rammed into them.
Policemen and operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps mobilised quickly to provide rescue efforts.
Both the dead and the injured have been taken to the hospital.
