Traffic paralyses Apapa-Oshodi Expressway

There is heavy traffic on the ever-busy Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
The traffic build-up follows a heavy downpour in the Lagos area this afternoon.
The first point where the build-up is heavy is at the Mile 2 point.
Trucks owned by construction giant, Julius Berger, are driving against traffic at this point.
Also from Ilasa Bus Stop down towards Oshodi, the traffic is almost at a standstill.

From Ilasa Bus Stop to Guardian newspaper, a journey usually less than five minutes, took close to one hour this afternoon.
The traffic jam was caused by a trailer that lost control almost in front of Rutam House, which houses The Guardian.
The trailer rammed into a truck, thus blocking almost the whole of the expressway.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency are at the spot.
But a towing truck is no where is sight.
