Adebola A. Oni
It is a great pleasure sharing my experiences and thoughts about life on this platform. It has always been a desire to share all I know with a lot of people on different platforms. It is my belief that this platform will offer me that golden opportunity and everyone will be the better for it.
As a young man, I learnt a very important lesson that I will love to share with you today. This lesson helped turn my life around as it has done to millions of people all over the world. This is the foundation that so many people that have achieved greatness have used as a platform to achieve all they have.

Before I discovered this lesson, I was an undergraduate and a confused one. I was in 300 Level studying Mechanical Engineering and yet life wasn’t palatable for me. Looking into the future is something I dread so much back then, all because of the scary things I always see. I am not surprised now when people are afraid of their future because I have been there.
Without wasting much of our time, the most important lesson I have learnt in life is that it really pays to have a dream!
This may sound or look so simple but the fact is that you can’t go far in life without a dream. Imagine a man leaving his house in the morning and not having an idea of where he is going? If he ends up on the Island or Lekki or maybe Ajegunle, he doesn’t care because he really doesn’t have anywhere in mind. Compare this to a man who already knows where he is going, he won’t land anywhere else and be satisfied because that is not where he is going. He won’t relax until he arrives at his pre-determined destination.
The same applies to our lives. If you don’t have a dream of where you want to be tomorrow or in the future, anywhere you are looks appealing to you. If you want to be anything or anywhere in the future, you need to first preconceive it in your mind, then you can now have a blueprint to follow. This is something a lot of people don’t know or even follow.
How many people do you know that attended school without been sure the course they are studying is really what they should be studying? How many people do you know pick up jobs just for the sake that they need to be doing something? How many do things just for the simple fact that others are doing it? How many do you know that are lost in the multitude all because they don’t have an idea of where they are going and what they can do with their lives? Way too many!
People are struggling in life not because of their background, upbringing, environment or Government policies. The major reason is just that people don’t have an idea of what their lives can look like. Simply put, THEY HAVE NO DREAM(S).
This topic of using dreams to transform our lives is what I am passionate about and I can talk about it for hours. It is not something I can finish in one piece.  I just want to lay the foundation today, in my next piece we will be looking at it from so many angles. I will also be sharing with you my own experience on how I used my dreams to transform my life. I can tell you about million others, but it won’t matter so much if I can’t point to how I have used this lesson to my own benefit.
Before I end today’s piece, I will like to leave you with this word of wisdom: “Life is not meant to be lived by chance but by design.”
This is to your success.
