Nigeria and China on Thursday in Abuja signed a Memorandum of Understanding on assistance to the Armed Forces of Nigeria to strengthen the ongoing counter insurgency operations in the North East.
The Minister of Defence, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali, signed on behalf of Nigeria, while the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Ziyou Pingjian, signed on behalf of his country.
Colonel Tukur Gusau, the Public Relations Officer to the minister, said the MOU was a follow up to the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to China in September 2018.
Gusau said during the visit, Buhari held discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, on infrastructure financing for strategic projects and gratis for the Armed Forces.
