Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Tuesday swore-in Prof. Bashir Garba as the Secretary to the State Government and Imam Imam as Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs.
Garba was the immediate past Rector of Sokoto State Polytechnic, while Imam was Tambuwal’s spokesman when he was the Speaker, House of Representatives.
Speaking shortly after he administered the oath of Office on the new appointees, the governor said their appointments were based on merit.
He said: “The new SSG is a seasoned administrator with decades of wealth of experience in public service.
“Imam Imam is a veteran journalist who knows his onions and he had diligently held same position when I was Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
Tambuwal urged the new appointees to deploy their wealth of experience to bring about good governance and the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
While stressing the need for them to listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the people, the governor urged them to be transparent and accountable in all their dealings.
