Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has heaped praise on teammate Emmanuel Dennis. The Reds talisman believes that the Nigerian is brilliant.
Awoniyi signed for Forest in the summer. He cost the club £17 million and was expected to take the Premier League by storm after his 18-goal haul in the Bundesliga during 2021/22.
The talented striker has scored three goals so far during 2022/23. He scored the winner against Liverpool and also notched against West Ham and Fulham during the current campaign.
Now. he’s taken some time to heap praise on his teammate. Dennis checked in at the City Ground from Watford and he cost the club £20 million.
Awoniyi is a big fan of his compatriot and has taken to Soccer Net to laud his fellow Forest teammate.
He said: “I knew for sure he’d be a good player.
“We’ve known each other a long time. He’s a good guy and we have a good relationship.
“I never thought we’d end up at the same club together. But the day the gaffer asked me about him, I said, ‘yes, we grew up together and I knew him quite well’.”
The Nigerian contingent at Forest is blooming. The Reds need both players to start firing and if they do they might just stay in the Premier League.
Both players have taken some time to settle at Forest. It’s not been plain sailing for the players and they might take some more time to get going.
The Reds are hoping to score a few more goals after the break for the World Cup. Both Awoniyi and Dennis can help with that
Forest signed the talismen and now they need them to get firing. Both Awoniyi and Dennis can play a part this season and they are both trying to make a name for themselves at the club.
