The Returning Officer, Professor Peter Omale, made the declaration on Monday at the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) office in Kwoi.
The commission chairman, Aliyu Suleiman, declared the results on Sunday night after certification following collation by returning officers.
Governor Fayemi also commiserated with the family of Dotun Kosedake, who was killed in the fracas that took place in Ikere-Ekiti and called on police authorities in the state to get to the roots of what actually transpired with a view to bringing the culprits to book.
A statement on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Chief Muyiwa Olumilua, said government had not given directive to the commission suggesting that people could vote during the election with their driver’s licences and identity cards.
The party said the Governor’s action has shown that he has zero concern for morality in democratic tenet.
