The SERG, in a statement issued by its President and National Coordinator, Chief Willy Ezugwu, said that “the affirmation of the emergence of the Chairman of the Elders’ Council of Ohanaeze Ndigbo as the new President-General of the socio-cultural organisation by the Imeobi is a clear testimony of his general acceptance, unifying ability, and rare leadership qualities.”

The group Friday, in a statement signed by its President and National Coordinator, Chief Willy Ezugwu, alleged  “since the presidential primary, where South East was deliberately denied the opportunity to produce its presidential candidate, the PDP is carrying on with the preparation for 2023 electioneering campaign as if the South, especially South Eastern Nigeria, does not matter.

Worried by attacks on non-Yoruba voters during the February 23, 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections in parts of Lagos State, “particularly at Igbo dominated pulling units”, the South East Revival Group has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria and indeed all security agencies “to ensure no Nigerian got molested for exercising their franchise in accordance with the laws of the land.”
