The VC announced the rescue of the final year accounting student in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday.

The deceased, Israel Emmanuel, the class Rep of the Mathematics Department of the university, died in the evening from the head injuries sustained when he fell off the car.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that before commencing its assignment on Monday, the Prof. Danjuma Gambo-led panel paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yohana Izam, in his office.

In a press release on Monday, signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer, John Agam, Izam described Galadima’s death as “a rude shock and a devastating blow” to the academic community.
