The Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission has told Nigerians to upgrade their meter before the due date for it to stop working.

The defendants, Abiola, 41, and Eze, 40, are standing trial on three counts bordering on conspiracy to defraud, fraud and impersonation.
In a statement signed by the EKEDC General Manager, Corporate Communications, Godwin Idemudia, the defendant, Abiodun, an installer for one of the meter asset providers stole a meter allocated to a customer in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos and sold it to another customer in Agbara, Ogun state.
The police charged Adesaji, who lives in Ota, with three counts of criminal damage, conspiracy and breach of peace.

The EKEDC is partitioned into 11 business units – Agbara, Igele, FESTAC Town, Ibeju, Ijora, Island, Lekki, Mushin, Ojo and Orile.
