Investigations revealed an alleged meeting recently held in the Anambra State Government House, Awka, during which one of Obi’s former aides, who currently serves as an aide of Governor Willie Obiano, was reportedly mandated to address a press conference this coming weekend during which he is to make damaging allegations against the immediate past Governor of the state.

Obi spoke on Saturday to over 2,000 youths at the close of the one-week 2019 Boot Camp at Government Technical Secondary School, Awka, Anambra State, where the youth learnt different skills – confectionery, automobile, designing, furniture, wiring, solar installation, among others – as well as listened to select speakers

Speaking shortly after the news of the appointment broke on Thursday, Obi said he was elated by the development, describing it as an avenue through which the owners of the publication have continued to teach Nigerians, other managers of men as well as those desirous of governing the state that merit and qualification must always count for any organisation or country to move forward.

One of the saddest and indeed alarming commentaries about the management of public affairs in Nigeria is the recurring decimal of failed leadership since the formal attainment of political independence in 1960. While the country has had all manner of administrations at the local, sub-national and federal levels over the years, the overwhelming majority of the key actors have been more of potentates than leaders.

Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 general election and former Governor, Anambra State, Peter Obi, is among dignitaries expected at this year’s silver jubilee anniversary of the Students Union Government, Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State.
