The proposed legislation titled: “A Bill for an Act to Repeal the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority Act and Transfer the Assets and Liabilities to the Ministry of Finance Incorporated; and for Related Matters’ is being sponsored by Oluwole Oke (Osun- PDP), the Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts (PAC).
Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Oluwole Oke issued the notice during the investigative hearing into the 2018 audit query against DMO, demanded for details of the utilisation of the fund and the rationale for reflecting the fund in the DMO’s financial statement.
The House Committee on Public Accounts, led by its Chairman, Hon. Oluwole Oke (PDP-Osun), expressed this when the Director of Finance and Administration of the Fund, Amoo Oladipupo Idris, appeared before Committee.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Oluwole Oke, issued the directive to the AGF at a meeting convened by the Committee to ascertain the amount of public funds so far expended by the government to fight the ravaging pandemic.
The lawmaker made the remarks in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.
He said the current system at the local government areas in Osun State was an aberration, which should be dispensed with without further delay.
The commendation came during an engagement with NIRSAL’s Management to clarify and share ideas on NIRSAL’s mandate, track record and accomplishments
The lawmakers however discovered that the deceased Auditor was still being paid his retainership fee by the University as at last year after the incident in 2008
