The Coalition of Civil Society Monitoring Groups on Insurgency in the North-East said in Abuja on Wednesday at a news conference that a request to this effect should be presented to the Federal Government by the military, which should in turn treat the increase of troops as a national emergency. 

It is a plaque yet to completely desert Borno in Nigeria’s Northeast and it is quite worrisome, to say the least. Unfortunately, some Nigerians have failed to properly equip themselves to discern the recurrent suicide bomb blasts in just parts of Borno state.  This mindset is probably and sadly informed by partisanship and malice; the natural cynicism in us as a people to accept when others have done well. 

The Governor gave the commendation in Ilorin while playing host to the new Commandant of the 22 Armourned Brigade, Nigeria Army, Sobi, Brigadier-General Sulaiman Idris and the outgoing Commandant, Brigadier-General Benjamin Sawyerr

The Executive Secretary of the CCC, Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (rtd), while briefing the press in Abuja on Thursday, said the time line on when to stop the insurgents from activating sleeper cells and detonating bombs into soft targets in any part of the country, especially in the frontline states, is, therefore, not tenable in the current efforts by the armed forces of Nigeria
