The trio were arraigned at Agbowa Magistrate Court in Ikorodu following their attempt to cart away with cables they had severed from the transformer.

“Basically, our Linesmen should not collect reconnection fees, neither are our Energy Sales Representatives (ESR’s) permitted to receive bill payments on behalf of customers. We have therefore embarked on an aggressive ‘Name & Shame’ campaign where parties who engage in this fraudulent act will face prosecution as dictated by the laws of the land,” he said
A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria who monitored the situation at the office of the company in Lagos, reported that normal business had been restored
According to a statement by the Head of Corporate Communications of the company, Felix Ofulue: “As part of the strategic initiative, the company also embarked on a re-engineering exercise focused on aligning the company’s structure with its operating model and optimizing human capital capacity for better efficiency
He said the company inherited a customer population of 636,160, with only 495,549 on its billing platform.
About 58,000 out of the 138,000 pre-paid metres inherited by the the company had been compromised, with the regime of estimated billing nationwide in force, adding that 20per cent of the PPM then were even obsolete
