The Lagos SWAN in a statement signed by the Association’ Secretary, Bunmi Ogunyale on Wednesday stated that Sirawoo is attempting to stir up unnecessary controversy by ‘recklesly setting up a Caretaker Committee after a new executive was elected and duly sworn in.’

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that while the Port Harcourt 2019 Triennial Delegates Congress returned Honour Sirawoo as National President for a second term in office through a voice vote, a parallel group in Abuja elected former Edo State SWAN Chairman, Ahmed Aigbona, as its president.
The NUJ, in a letter on Thursday, signed by its National Secretary, Shuaibu Leman, urged Sirawoo to avoid acts which may lead to unpleasant circumstances in the association.
